Village Welcome – for first-time adult participants (Ring 1)

The Village Welcome  is a nature-based programme to deepen your connection to self, others and nature. Our culture repair model comprises powerful practices from healthy, nature-based cultures around the world. Lose yourself in the woods, find your playful side in games on the land, open your heart and senses more deeply, share stories, smile at the sunrise, and so much more.

Ring 1 nature connection

Nature Immersion – for returning adults (Ring 2)

Are you ready for a deep nature connection journey as a returning participant, living and playing in the woods? Do you want to immerse yourself in bird language, tracking and ancient crafts? Nature Immersion  has a separate programme for most of the week, re-joining the village for some meals and some key events.

Prerequisite: you’ve done Village Welcome (Ring 1) on another Art of Mentoring and are 18 years or older on 28 July. There are only limited places so we advise booking soon.

Foxes (for kids age 7-12)

A facilitated nature connection programme for 7-12 year olds. Foxes nurtures children’s love of nature while enabling parents to engage in the adult programmes. Foxes are encouraged to play and follow their passions and curiosity, with gentle guidance and lots of inspiration from our trained mentors. Only 16 places so save your space soon.

Village Green (for kids 0-6, teens 13-18 & elders)

A space for children under 7 and their guardians (enabling another adult to participate on another programes), teens aged 13-18 and returning elders. The aim of the Village Green is to enable family groups to attend the Art of Mentoring, where some members of the family are on Village Welcome or Nature Immersion. This is not a formal programme; it’s a co-creative space at the centre of the village, where guardians, young children and teens are surrounded by experienced 8 Shields mentors.

Nature Culture – for returning adults

We invite an exploration into what it means to co-create a new culture, specifically one that is regenerative, relational, and nature-connected. This programme is an opportunity for participatory activities, role-plays, and lively discussions. Presenters will offer experiential explorations of some of the cultural aspects of 8 Shields, aimed at creating harmonious, supportive, resilient, and regenerative social systems.
